DOT - Polkadot currency

 flag

Polkadot (DOT) is a next-generation blockchain protocol that facilitates interoperability between multiple blockchains. Created by Ethereum co-founder Dr. Gavin Wood, Polkadot aims to create a decentralized web where different blockchains can securely communicate and share information. DOT serves multiple purposes within the network, including governance, staking, and bonding new parachains (individual blockchains). Unlike traditional fiat currencies, DOT is not regulated by any central bank, but rather by its decentralized community of validators and developers. The Polkadot ecosystem is rapidly expanding, with DOT playing a central role in securing and maintaining its unique multi-chain framework.
